The place garnered attention in 1973, when the Government of India issued a postage stamp on the Bani Thani (an Indian miniature painting, painted by Nihal Chand from the Marwar School of Kishangarh) painting of Kishangarh.

Location
Kishangarh in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district is situated some 80 km from the state’s capital city, Jaipur. The place makes for an exciting weekend getaway from Delhi, as it’s barely 325 km from the national capital.

How to reach Kishangarh?
The beautiful city in Rajasthan is a perfect blend of unexplored history, raw nature and welcoming people! Kishangarh is quite well-connected with other Indian cities via a network of highways, trains and flights. From Delhi, one can either drive or take a direct flight to Kishangarh, which takes around 40 minutes!

Set in the backdrop of Kishangarh Fort on the banks of Gondulav Lake, Phool Mahal Palace was built in 1870. The palace hotel is a treat for the sore eyes! Kishangarh Fort
One of the must-visit places in Kishangarh is the massive fort that was built in 1649 by Maharaja Swaroop Singh of Kishangarh. It is a perfect blend of Rajput and architectural technique. Entry to the fort is strictly on permission basis and restricted for outsiders. However, guests staying in Hotel Phool Mahal Palace, which is located just next to the fort, are allowed to go inside the fort.
